This is a residential 5 day/4 night retreat, providing you with a powerful opportunity to disconnect from the demands of your busy city life, join with other like-minded individuals and experience your own spiritual development. 

We have compiled this information so you feel comfortable and prepared for what lies ahead. We know it can be daunting travelling on your own to a new place, so we’re here to support you every step of the way!

GUIDELINES

 

This retreat is not a holiday; it is undoubtedly a time to restore and relax, however there will be a full programme of meditation and yoga throughout the day, which we expect all participants to attend. 

By attending this event you agree to:

·      Approach the retreat with respect; both to the teachings that are being shared with you, and to your fellow participants. 

·      Some participants will prefer more silence or alone time than others; please respect this always and be mindful of your fellow participants’ wishes. 

·      Complete the retreat fully, attending all sessions.

·      Refrain from using any recreational drugs.

·      Wear modest clothing throughout the retreat.

·      Have your image and voice recorded and possibly used for the sharing of content on the Internet, via Cocoon’s website and/or social media channels. All recorded material will be treated with the utmost sensitivity and respect.

 

Please note: this retreat is not a replacement for any therapy or medical treatment that you may be undergoing. Please ensure you have checked with your Doctor before embarking on the retreat. 

LOCATION

Our home for the retreat is the beautiful Forsyth Lodge, an inspiring luxury eco-lodge on the edge of the buffer zone of the Satpura Tiger Reserve. Hidden in dense deciduous forests, it offers a unique and sustainable wilderness experience for us to explore. The friendly and experienced naturalist team will be there to guide us through the daily safaris and nature walks, whilst the accomplished chef team, will be keeping us well-fed with wholesome, nourishing food made fresh from local ingredients.

GETTING THERE

 

The transfer to and from the Lodge is included in your retreat cost, so all you need to do is book your flight! For those travelling from somewhere other than Mumbai, please arrive at Bhopal Airport on the morning of 17th October, as early as possible if you require a transfer.  To discuss other options, please do contact us as soon as you’ve booked.

WHAT TO EXPECT


The retreat begins on Thursday 17th October with a Camp Briefing and Welcome at 16:00. There will generally be two meditation/yoga sessions on each of the following days, and the retreat will end on Monday 21st October after lunch.

The yoga/meditation sessions will vary in length, typically running for 1 – 1.5 hours each. Because the retreat is spontaneous; the teachings and meditations will vary in length and the daily schedule may change according to what the group requires. Be flexible and flow with us :)

All additional safari activities are also included in the retreat and each day will include plenty of time in nature, alongside some leisure time to enjoy the pool, or just to be quiet and go deeper into your practice.

First day schedule — Thursday 17th October

Most of you will be travelling from Mumbai and our team will be there at the airport from 05:00 AM for the 06:40 AM IndiGo flight. 

On arrival at Bhopal Airport you will be met by the Lodge drivers who will bring you by Jeep to Forsyth. This will take 2.5 – 3 hours, depending on traffic. 

On arrival at the Lodge, lunch will be served, before you check-in to your rooms.

We will all gather for the Camp Briefing and Welcome at 16:00 before the evening programme begins.

For those arriving by their own transportation, check in at Forsyth with be from 13:00 – 15:00.

 

Closing Day schedule — Monday 21st October

The program ends after lunch, at around 15:00 on Monday 21st October. Jeeps will be there to transport you to Bhopal airport in time for the 21:50 AI flight to Mumbai. 

If anyone is travelling to somewhere other than Mumbai, Jeep transfer will be arranged to accommodate for your flight requirements. 

 

ACCOMODATION

Forsyth is a sustainable luxury lodge, blending the best of old-world safari charm with modern amenities. Towels and all linens will of course be provided. 

Accommodations are on single or double occupancy basis: your preference should be indicated at time of booking. If you are coming with your partner or friend, please let us know so we can make sure to put you in the same room.

 

FOOD

The retreat includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus snacks and drinks throughout the day. Upon registration, you can indicate whether you have any special dietary requirements. As far as possible, we will ensure that these are catered for. 

 

WHAT TO BRING

The weather at that time will be warm during the day but could get a little chilly in the evenings. There is of course a chance of rain, but we never know! As well as your normal clothes and toiletries, we would recommend: 

·      Comfy clothes for yoga and meditation classes. 

·      A jumper for the evenings

·      A lightweight raincoat 

·      Shoes suitable for walking

·      Your swimsuit; Forsyth has a lovely pool that you are free to enjoy during leisure time

·      A refillable water bottle; Forsyth is single-use plastic free and as such, there will be no bottled water. 100% safe, filtered water will be provided free of charge throughout the retreat. 

·      Eco-friendly Yoga mats and props will be provided by our lovely sponsor, Kosha Yoga. However, if you already have a mat and prefer to bring it, please indicate this at the time of booking.
